August 2009
Nerves of Steel
A few hours after the Yankees
defeated the Chicago White Sox on Saturday (Aug. 29), I realized a longtime
dream.
As I took the mound, it hit me. How
could I not get nervous? There were
7,000 people watching me, and the catcher appeared to be about a mile away.

Book Signing – Friday August 28
I have been fortunate enough to co-author two books about
Yankee Stadium.
Tennis Anyone?
One of the most exciting
aspects of working for the New York Yankees is that, regardless of whether it’s
Opening Day or a mid-week game in August, there always seems to be stars in the
crowd — as well as on the field.
Pair of Aces
When the Yankees held a press
conference on a cold December (2008) day to announce the acquisitions of
pitchers CC Sabathia and A.J. Burnett, optimists like myself envisioned a
sequence of games like the last two.
The Greatest
During the course of a 162-game season, there are games that
stand out and will be remembered for years to come.

Life in the Minors
Although this is called the Homestand Blog, I will
occasionally post entries when the team is on the road.
