I
just returned from the press conference in which the Yankees announced that a
college football bowl game will be played at Yankee Stadium beginning in 2010.

Today’s game was very
exciting.

A
few days ago, Paul Simon’s assistant called me with good news. I had been
requesting an interview with Simon since Opening Day, which was the first of
many games he has attended this season at Yankee Stadium.

In
the six years I worked at the old Yankee Stadium, there were several games in
which the fans’ energy made for an electric atmosphere.

As
the Yankees director of publications, one of my tasks each year is to organize
the team photo. So, as I write this blog entry a few hours after the photo was
taken, I am considerably more relaxed than I was this afternoon.
