October 5, 2020 — The 2020 New York Yankees Official Yearbook will be on sale beginning on October 13. The 2020 Yearbook is available for purchase on yankees.com/publications or by calling (800) GO-YANKS. It can also be found on newsstands in and around the Big Apple. But if you are a current Yankees Magazine subscriber, check your mailbox over the next few weeks. As a show of our appreciation for the loyal support of the thousands of fans who read our flagship publication on a monthly basis, we are sending you a complimentary copy of the 2020 Yearbook.

In a most unique year and baseball campaign, we made the decision to wait until the conclusion of the regular season to publish the 2020 Yearbook, and in doing so, we were able to include so much detail from what took place on the field over the last three months.

For the first time in the 70-year history of the Yankees’ annual Yearbook, we included the (socially-distanced) team photo, taken in centerfield at Yankee Stadium this past September. Player bios are also presented differently from the way they were written in previous seasons. This time around, we highlighted what each player did on the field in 2020, not just in the past.

In addition to the 2020 Yearbook possibly being the most current annual publication the team has ever put out, it also features a very timely cover. We know that fans were not able to watch the Yankees play in person this season at Yankee Stadium, and so, we brought a little piece of The House That Ruth Built to our loyal supporters. We feel that the cover image, showing a home jersey draped over a Stadium seat — specifically a №20 chair — says it all about this season. The patch honoring Hank Steinbrenner, who passed away in April, is also shown prominently on the left sleeve of the pinstriped jersey.

There is a tremendously thoughtful feature on the late Steinbrenner, a co-owner of the team for decades, within the pages of the 2020 Yearbook. The publication also includes my features covering two blockbuster deals that took place 100-years apart. The first of those deals brought Babe Ruth to the Yankees in 1919, and I celebrated the centennial anniversary of his first season with the team by detailing several of the landmark destinations in his life that I have run through (see blog entry below). My Gerrit Cole feature (see blog entry below) is much more straightforward, but it’s also very revealing.

Aaron Judge is featured in a story about all of his charitable work off the field. And, although we have to wait another year for Derek Jeter’s Hall of Fame induction ceremony, executive editor Nathan Maciborski wasted no time in putting together a well-written piece on the captain’s illustrious career and his 2020.

This limited-run publication is sure to be one of the most sought-after Yankees souvenirs from an unforgettable season. Be sure to grab your copy while supplies are still available.
